Post Secret. You know the beloved PostSecret blog? Today’s prompt is to write down a secret that …really isn’t a secret.
The “rules” of Post Secret is that all the postcards are anonymous and all the secrets have never been shared before. But we can’t necessarily abide by those here during HAWMC, but they are interesting when you think of health disclosure and blogging about health. As a Health Activist, you have disclosed in the online space – but perhaps people you interact with and help have not. Additionally, perhaps aspects of your condition remain “secret” to the public.
Awareness is our focus today. The catharsis related to sharing something that been on your heart, perhaps weighing you down, is what makes PostSecret even more powerful. Today you can capture that idea or take it in a slightly different direction. Write a not-secret like, say, a misconception about your condition. Or something people would think you’d be shy to disclose, but will or already have! Or just something you want to shout from the rooftops and would paint on a billboard if you could because it is so important you think everyone should know.
