Something that we have learned over time through interacting with Health Activists is that: learning from and meeting each other is one of your favorite things. In fact, I think it’s what made the Health Activist Awards so extra special. Everyone involved had the opportunity to meet more people and visit new blogs, communities, and condition-areas. So, in honor of this idea and February itself – this month will be Health Activist Matchmaking Month. (We won’t be playing cupid per se. But we do have a few ideas on that…)
All month we will be delving into topics that are discussed nearly every health community: relationships and health conditions (romantic, friendships, familial, with community members – especially that last one). We will also focus on commonalities among Health Activists (across conditions), introduce you to all of the Health Activist Award Finalists, and hopefully help foster connections among leaders online that go beyond your particular medium ( be it blog, Facebook, Twitter, or more) and even beyond your own condition of focus.
Think of the collective knowledge that exists in Health Activists overall. Incredible. What if we could capture that and give it to all of you? It’s a big idea but something we will try all month with you.
So join us! If you’ve written about a fellow Health Activist that has inspired you – we want to hear it. If you’ve tackled the tough but crucial “relationships and my condition” topic we’d love to share it.
Here are our topics for our weekly Health Activist Tweetchats (#HAchat) join us every Tuesday this month at 3pm Eastern:
7-Feb: “Relationships and…” (Relationships with: your condition, your significant other, your friends, etc.)
14-Feb: Health Activist Crush (Who do you love and admire online?)
21-Feb: Matchmaking in your health community (connecting with your members, leading as a community manager, etc)
28-Feb: Relationships with your doctor and care team
Looking forward to connecting with you (and featuring your work) – we’ve got lots to talk about this month!
