For our January Health Activist Coaching Session we focused on the topic of “From Patient to Health Activist” and getting started with advocacy as a patient or caregiver who is first starting out online.
Our Coaching Session shared tips from Health Activists on how to make the most of this transition. Here are 3 of those tips:
4. The more you share, the more comfortable you will become. Start slow but be prepared to let the power of online communities and relationships with fellow patients take you. It will.
6. Remember that your health and your wellbeing come first. Try to keep that in mind as you advocate. It will be a challenge (it isn’t easy!) but do your best to remember to take care of yourself so you can care for others. (Great tip from @tiffanyandlupus)
9. Be open. Especially to learning from very opportunity, everyone you meet, and everything you read. (Awesome tip from @flywithhope)
