Introducing Lori Sames, winner of the Advocating for Another Award in the Second Annual WEGO Health Activist Awards.
Q1. How did you become a Health Activist?
A1. In 2008 my daughter Hannah was diagnosed with GAN. Instead of accepting this death sentence for our child my husband I co-founded Hannah’s Hope Fund for GAN.
Q2. What are your goals for Health Activism this year?
A2. To continue to advocate for GAN and strengthen the community of Rare diseases
Q3. What awareness event or effort are you most excited about in your condition?
A3. Our clinical trial will begin in 2013.
Q4. If you could tell other Health Activists a few things about your condition and your community, what would you want them to know?
A4. GAN is small but Rare Diseases are not. Don’t take no for an answer.
